Odell beckham jr. & Miami dolphins agree to 1-year deal

The Miami Dolphins signed Odell Beckham Jr. to a one-year contract worth $3 million, with a possible max value of $8.25 million with incentives.

Beckham is coming off of one of the largest one-year contracts given to a WR. After sitting out the whole 2022 season, the Baltimore Ravens agreed to pay Odell $18 million for the 2023 season. Despite that, his production was very underwhelming. He finished the season with 35 catches, 565 yards and three touchdowns. Despite the little help he provided for the Ravens, he was ultimately released by them in March.

Before the deal was finalized, Dolphins head coach had been in contact with Odell and had nothing but good things to say about him. He talked about how great of a career Beckham’s had and how he still sees a lot of great things with him when it comes to football. Mentioning how business takes time, you could tell McDaniel was excited to have a chance to coach a wide receiver like Odell.

Beckham himself told reporters after the AFC Championship game that he still has a lot in the tank. And if you’ve seen Odell Beckham play football, you know he’s going into this season ready to prove a point. Not only will he be on his 5th team now, but he’ll be getting a chance to play alongside two of the best wide receivers in the game. Tyreek Hill who arguably was the best receiver in 2023, while having Jaylen Waddle, who’s put up over 1,000 yards in each of his first 3 seasons, on the other side.

Don’t be surprised if Odell Beckham starts to look like his old self this year. Having to sit out a whole season after tearing an ACL and then getting picked up to play on a new team for a lot of money must have been extremely tough. He’s now healthy, has a season under his belt after the injury and gets a fresh start with a new franchise. Don’t count him out just yet.
