Royals making moves

This is a team that will be looking to turn things around this year. After only winning 56 games last season, the Royals made a lot of moves this winter to try and make something happen. They signed Michael Wacha, who will be starting on the mound Monday. In addition to Wacha they signed another starting pitcher, Seth Lugo who was previously with the Padres. To help in the hitting department they went on to sign Adam Frazier, Austin Nola, and Hunter Renfroe. With the veteran Wacha getting the start, the Royals should feel pretty good. He pitches well on the road and the one start he had against the Orioles last year he went 5 scoreless innings.

Orioles looking to build off last season

This is a very young team that I believe has only scratched the surface of their potential. The 100 win season they had last year was the first one they’ve had since 1980 and they’ll be looking to do it again. With the talent this team has not only on the big-league team but coming up through their minor league system, I believe they’ll be successful for some years to come. They picked up Corbin Burnes this off-season which is a huge addition to try and make another playoff run. They’ll have Kremer starting tomorrow. A pitcher that went 8-2 with a 4.38 ERA in 19 starts at home last year. Having scored over 20 runs in the first two games, these boys are feeling good.

prediction

After scoring 11 and 13 runs in their first 2 games, the Orioles only managed to scratch across 1 run on three hits in their 3rd game. It makes me feel a little better about tomorrow after having two explosive games and then getting cooled off so to speak. What the Royals just did was quite the opposite. They scored 1 run in each of their first two games and then exploded for 11 runs today. For them to score 11 runs after only scoring 2 in two games doesn’t make me feel like they can keep that momentum going. This should be a good pitching matchup against Wacha and Kremer and could potentially be a low scoring game. But give me Kremer at home with the better line up.
